Enhanced Subcategory Display

I have a category called Women’s Clothing. I have subcategories for:

  • New for 2011
  • Shirts
  • Caps
  • etc



    All products are assigned to subcategories - the Women’s Clothing category doesn’t contain any products.



    Instead of displaying a simple subcategory list on the Women’s Clothing category page, I’d like to display:
  • the subcategory name (links to subcategory page)
  • 3 products from the subcategory

    — product photo

    — product name

    — product price



    See attachment for an example.



    Would it be possible to modify templates to do this, or would I need some custom modifications from CS-Cart support?

Do you have the “show products from subcategories” checkbox checked?

Administration>Settings> Show products from subcategories of the selected category
