CS-Cart 2.1.4 Released

This release mainly includes the bug fixes.

Please see http://blog.cs-cart.com/2011/03/02/cscart-214-released/ for more details

Would you explain how does the MoneyBookers quick checkout works? On other sites I’ve seen MoneyBookers ability to pay with credit card without leaving shop website?

Hi,

It’s hard from me to tell if reported bug fixes reported in the last version have been addressed in the current version.

Is it possible to reference the Bug Number next to the fix?

I am trying to see if these were addressed in 2.1.4

There may be others, but I think it would be a good idea to note what in the change log addressed which bug. I have seen this in other carts change logs.

Thank you,

Bob

I agree with above… I fixed many little bugs in the code of 2.13. I want to make sure they are all fixed before I upgrade.

We totally agree. We will not upgrade until we get a clearer idea of what bugs were fixed. We posted a bug this week which is obviously not in this release but when the bug is fixed we certainly would like to know.

Bug Tracker could have not only “Status: Fixed” but “Status: Fixed in 2.1.4”

I am hopping on the bandwagon as well. Most companies when they release a new build and have bug fixes will site the bug #/id where it is available in the release notes. I think this is a great practice so you can always go back to the bug tracker to see exactly what each fix does instead of trying to figure out what the short blurb about the fix means that they currently provide.

Alright, where are all of our instantaneous, immediate release beta bug testers for this 2.1.4? I don’t see any comments as to the results experienced after this upgrade, is this the perfect release?

Without you, we have no idea if it is safe for us to upgrade, you are needed & highly appreciated as a part of our daily survival!

I actually wanted to update my local but I no longer see the upgrade package available. I checked my live site and it’s not available there either. It was there earlier today when I checked. Maybe they pulled it?

cs-cart has a bad habit of having several different versions of a release out there all using the same number. It is extremely poor release management and there should be one and only one version (or content) of a release.

So you might have a 2.1.4 today but it may not be the same as the 2.1.4 that’s around tomorrow.

I did NOT see in the changelog where the upgrade issue about deleting all the archive files was fixed in this release. So DO NOT try to remove the information from any prior release or all your current upgrade info will be lost.

Last item in the list. I found it after the third reading lol

That’s good, data destroying defects certainly generate some urgency.

Dear tbirnseth,

This is not true at the moment. I admit that there were some cases in the past. But now we prevent such situations.

Could you explain how does improved moneybookers work? Can I accept credit cards without customer leaving website?

Just wanted to let others know that the upgrade was short and painless. It took about 30 minutes including resolving conflicts.

Ok, thanks to everyone for the great idea. We will do something to improve the tie between the changelong and bugtracker.

The new Mooneybookers payment method works almost the same as before. The old version was very difficult in setting. That is why we divided it into 2 versions: eWallet and QuickCheckout. Now that the user selects a certain payment method, he/she will always know for sure what to expect from it and how to adjust it.

The user will be redirected to the Moneybookers page as before.

Thank you.
