Default Blue skin using CSS/Xhtml

No Affiiliation with the content, I just came across it,

Can’t wait to hear of 1.3.5 coming already

As of today, CS-Cart has completed a good portion of their Default Blue skin using CSS/Xhtml.

There are approx. 40 tpl files left to go. (over 180 tpl’s in a skin).

This new skin will become the default installed skin for CS-Cart v 1.3.5 when that is released.

Finally! Let’s just hope it doesn’t suck and replaced with 1000 nested divs instead.

LOL… That would suck
Hello,

just to clarify, XHTML valid skin has not been added with SP3.

It will be released sometime later, however before CS-Cart 1.3.5 release.

Thank you.
This was a comment from the Admin in another thread, but just thought I’d post it here for anyone who is interested. I wonder if we can get a more exact date or perhaps do some browser testing…BETA anyone?

I suppose the question is…

Is it a valid xhtml / css skin using tables or have they completely s****ped all of their tables and done it properly…

Nearly every cart on the market that boasts compliant xhtml / css code is still riddled with thousands of tables, and I dont like tables…

One of you must be able to get an answer to this…

Coppernicus / Sno ???

Hi SWS, I’m not sure if the new xhtml/css skin is tabless or not yet, guess we’ll have to wait and see…

I believe the only table used is for tabular data, inside the product page, in displaying grid type data. As far as I’m told, the rest of the tables are gone.

Hi,

yes tables will be kept in some templates where using divs is less efficient or not usable.

Thanks

I’ld hate to ask a VERY stupid question, but I’m relentless in hoping,

What skin are you doing? and is the brickwork series a possibility in the current pot? (of donations)

They are redoing Default blue…i think with some modifications though.

Burst my bubble  lol

Yeah I thought as much, I’m thinking that roughly 50% of the forum has default_x installed anyway.

I was thinking to XHTML brickwork_darksteel however I’m still considering it once i’ve done my www.knoxit.com.au domain.

I guess I should start converting my skin too. I’m ‘stuck’ in 1.3.3 because of my mods and I wouldn’t be able to base it off that skin anyway…

Just where to start is the problem… I have to say I’m still very old school and have never done a design without tables. I rekon I’ll end up with loads of nested divs like someone else said! I guess I’ll just have to read some tutorials and get to grips with it!

Would it be possible to see some of the code that’s in the tpls? I’m really interested in if I should wait and use this as a baseline or just start from scratch. Also, is there a timeline for when the default skin will be released?

Thanks,

B

Ive heard default blue is finished, but no release date as of yet

I too would be v. interested in seeing some of the code
