I would like to know what happens to all the canonical url entries when an addon upgrade takes place. Do I have to setup the canonical urls again or is this stored in a db somewhere during an addon upgrade?

Hmmm, just installed v. 2 and noticed that it doesn't seem to work with AJAX pagination. For example, I have a category with 2 pages. When I navigate to Page 2, it still show a rel="next" link to page 2 and there is no rel="previous" link.

CS-Cart version 2 and 3 has no dynamic meta information changes on ajax page so the canonical url addon will not change meta info on these ajax pages. It's a new feature for CS-Cart v4.

If you need dynamic meta information (useful for allowing Google to index ajax version of the page on purpoase, usually for full ajax site), we can do this as a custom addon. Thanks.

There are many other meta tags and the custom meta tags insertion will allow such optimization on a per product basis.

This is a very nice add-on and reasonably priced at $ 65. As per product description, seems to be used by over 200+ live stores, and rightly so as I feel it's a must-buy for any store. It solves a lot of problems for store owners:

i) Auto-meta tags, titles, description (from product description), keyword if you leave out entering this for any product. Very useful for store owners with large catalogs. I noticed that even if your description has HTML tags, the add-on strips out junk info and extracts clean descriptions, which I liked.

ii) Solves duplicate title problem (it inserts page x after title on subsequent pages)

iii) Canonical Google compliant rel tags, Custom 404 redirect

There are lots of other features, but I have yet to explore all of them. I particularly liked the fact that the add-on is open-source, has no callbacks / encryption, and is therefore lightweight and fast running. Great value for money and fantastic service by Louis as always!
