paypal pro setup

i’ve setup my paypal account and now its asking to me configure the “api-setup.” i’m given two options, grant API permissions or request API permissions, which do i choose to work with cs-cart? if this has already been documented i would greately appreciatly anyone who could point me in the right direction.

Same here.

Ok I just called paypal and they set me up. You need to click “Profile” after you have logged into Paypal.com. In “profile” under “Account Information” you will see “API Access”. Click on that. Then click “Request API Credentials”. From there it will give you a username and password then make you download the certificate that you need to upload into your “cscartdir”/payments/certificates/.

the hosting provider that i’m using provided the option of a shared ssl certificate when signing up with a business account. i just wanted to make sure this was going to work for using ssl on the cart checkout and the admin panel. do i have to have a dedication ssl certificate or will the shared work?

I dont think so, you just have to type in the url of the shared ssl cert instead of the directory on your server.

I am having similar problem and am confused with the same thing. I have a test paypal pro UK account, password and API Certificate. I have saved the certificate as cert_key_pem.pem and placed it under “[cscart_dir]/payments/certificates/” directory in cscart directory path. Now when you are saying to type in the url of the shared ssl certificate what does it mean ? Where should I type in shared ssl certificate location and where do I get this information ? From my hosting company ? Please please help.

hey josiah i am having the problem of figuring out what to do with the certificate where do i load this at and how can you walk me thru the steps i got the paypal side figured out its the cs cart side i cant figure out

thanks calvin

  1. you could use share SSL certificate, just make sure you enter all the information correctly in your Config.php file. You could ask your host about the share ssl information.

Also remember to check the ssl function in your admin to enable it.

  2. paypal cert that you have downloaded should be in .txt file, place it in your “[cscart_dir]/payments/certificates/” directory

then to go your cs cart paypal pro setting and enter username and password.

    hope this will help.

hello calvin,

  1. OKay, if you have downloaded the file from paypal. it should be a file call “cert_key_pem.txt” then upload the file to this directory “[cscart_dir]/payments/certificates/”

  2. Now, go to your admin > Payment methods > then configure paypal pro…

fill in your username, password which you could find in your paypal account.

(log in to paypal, then go “API ACCESS” under Account information)

then click on “View or Remove Credentials”.
