Easy way to delete products

I get a weekly price list and stock list from one of my suppliers and there are usually a few or more discontinued products in the lists.

When I do the stock lists I make the discontinued products unavailable, but is there any way to just delete them?

Even if there isn’t a way to delete them directly with a csv import, is there a way to do some type of mySQL command?

Any help would be really appreciated.

Thank you,

Brandon

After you update them all to ‘disabled’ with the csv import, why not just search for all items that are disabled and delete them from the admin?

Well, mainly because that is way too easy.

Dang, didn’t think of that. I guess I was over-complicating things.

Thanks for the tip, that worked perfect.

Brandon

Yep, that’ll work if you don’t have disabled products on a regular basis. About 10% of my products are disabled for various reasons. I suppose you could use hidden but I think I have some that are hidden as well.

What I do is I export the quantitys and I enter an outrageously high number like 5000 or 10000, then import it. I then import an updated inventory file then I go to products and sort the quantity and start mass deleting anything with a quantity of 10000.

Of course if/when an addon ever comes out to be able to automatically send an email to a customer when a product is back in stock, I will have to resort to something else. :stuck_out_tongue:

Not to hijack the thread, but is this something you want?

Hijack number 2.

Yeah. I will begin working on mods again once there is a stable release of the newer version. I am at a stand still until this occurs.

I am sure there are others that would love to have this as well. Perhaps a new thread should be started.?

I too would benefit greatly from some sort of mod like this. Should Cs release a stable version?

Webgraphiq has a back in stock addon if that is what you are looking for.

And they are proud of it too at $100

It seems “Back in stock” notifications to customers feature is already planned.

Saw this too late. Started a new thread here: http://forum.cs-cart.com/showthread.php?p=104504#post104504

But certainly don’t want to invest in something that’s going to be in the core cart anyway. Guess it’s a question of how long one would have to wait (2.2.35?)…
