CS-Cart Price Increase?

Read this on twitter.com/cscart
An additional CS-Cart license will cost $225 after Nov 4. Take your chance to buy it with the current $100 discount!
Not sure why it’s not posted here, but figured I’d let everyone know.

Tony, Is there any information on how that might impact resellers? Additional cost there as well?

I only know what I read on twitter.

I would assume all addt licenses will increase?!?!

The price increase affects users who buy additional licenses.

instead of being $185 per license, its now $225 per.

This does NOT affect Resellers.

Just purchased another license.

What? You need more work than you already have? :stuck_out_tongue:

Punishing returning customers with the price increase? It looks like I’m going to stay with 1 CS license only. Some time ago I was about to buy 2 more CSes for my customer however, the payment gateway, which is already implemented in competitors carts was quoted 380$+ by CS guys so, I went with another cart. I will need 2 more in December and it looks like the same story will happen. Sad.
I went with another cart.
Norm, mind telling me which cart you went with? Just curious.

cubecart

It’s £110 but it has the gateway integrated I was after. Maybe not as good as CS (?), but it does the job for my clients perfectly.

The BIG problem with Cubecart is SEO.

Let’s compare category URL:

Cubecart:

CS-Cart:

You see, the BIGGEST problem is “?ccUser=8a66b4c6e562c6db0789d28ce5bae00c”

More, I don’t talk about “cat_4.html”…

Product page:

CS-Cart:

“prod_3.html” Vs. “compaq-presario-desktop-pc.html”

Which plays in Premier League?

The biggest problem for me with CS is 380+ USD to pay extra for something what is already implemented in different products as standard. No product is perfect for every scenario. CC was a much better option for my client however, for things I do, I still prefer CS. All of the carts have glitches so, if we start comparing them, we will never find the right one for all of us.

As with regards to SEO, it is better to get involved in some blogs, forums and create some useful articles, which can be published on quality websites together with some back links to your own website and this way, your ranking will be much higher instead of wasting days on it and get obsessed with static URLs and SEO.

Hello Noman,

First, I appreciate you for a long time, notwithstanding, I find you a little tense lately. Would you need a well deserved holiday?

Then, the SEO is a united whole; like a racing car. If you get to the departure of the RAC Rally (Rally of Great Britain) by choosing snow tires, and a gearbox to run the 24 Hours of Le Mans, do not expect to finish in the top 20.

So, Noman, what do you from the 11 November for 4 days?

A stay to see the RAC would do you good!

Exactly.

I know almost nothing about SEO other than the above and it simply is true.

I have a small site that I do nothing much for in terms of SEO other than writing relevant content and we manage to have very good Google search results.

Recently I deleted some categories and started new ones and I could not figure out how to easily do redirects so I simply did not. I was very happy to find that I was only out of Google for perhaps a couple of days.

With that said one day when time allows I will look to fine-tuning our SEO racing car as Lee describes, when time allows being the key limiting factor…

Hmmm, excuse me Lee Li Pop, but as for me talking about SEO is off-topic for this thread. Noman told us his opinion and it is fully understandable.

What I want to understand according this thread is - How often will CS-Cart increase its products prices?

It will be nice that one of company marketing guy tell us this information.

What is in store for us? 300$, 500$ or 1000$ for CS-Cart Professional in near future?

What is time period for price revise in CS-Cart company?

Sorry, I’m not a fortune teller who predicts the future. However, you can look at the past price politic

I do the same. Quit CS-Cart for another shopping cart only for a price question is astonishing after many years of use.

Remember, SEO is like an iceberg, everybody talks about "links and of net linking ", nevertheless, this part of SEO is in my humble opinion, the visible part of the iceberg.

Is the most important part?

Titanic captain could answer us!

If your “small site” is made with CS-Cart, therefore, it’s natural. CS-Cart excels in this!

This is why I don’t understand why my friend Noman quits CS-Cart.

Like a professor in medicine: It is difficult to find a professor of medicine specializing in foot surgery and brain surgery simultaneously. You will find many who specialize in brain surgery, and many others in foot surgery. Both at once is a little trickier. Besides, I do not know if this “expert” exists, except in any native tribe to third world countries, of course.

To summarize, it is better to be a specialist in a very good tool like CS-Cart, rather than being an amateur in many minor tools.

Unless, of course, target some third world markets, where demand for voodoo gurus is essential for business, especially for a price question

Lee Li Pop

Lee,

I like your posts - you are funny and even if we do not agree with everything you write you provide a good starting point for conversation.

Yes, I use CS cart for my website - actually two sites but only one site that I really work on the 2nd site is like a neglected step child in a children’s story.

As for CS cart prices - I want them to go up and at the same time have them include an up to date easy to read manual written by a native speaker of English and do more testing.

My thinking is that the real cost of CS cart must include our headaches when we upgrade and cannot find what we need for simple changes in the manual.

With that said I do not want free software I am very happy to pay CS cart for a more user friendly shopping cart.

I’m pretty sodding annoyed about this, I’ve been building a new site for a few weeks and just logged in to buy a license for it.

It’s the first I’ve seen of the price increase.

I don’t mind a price rise if they improve the product and support, I’m just very pissed off that there was no warning.

Surely they should send out an email newsletter to let us know a substantial price increase (over 20%) was coming and let us get any licenses we need in advance

Lee

I think price increase is not that bad. Still the platform is much cheaper then Magento. However, I think it might be a good idea to run some promo’s that old-time members could benefit from.

That will make those that stick to the platform much happier

Considering the power of CS-Cart I’m surprised how cheap it is.

It’s still the principle not the price, if you’re putting up your prices for existing customer upgrades you let your existing customers know directly, it’s basic marketing/customer support.
