Problem With Shipping Methods

Hello,

I just about got the shipping set up and then lost the domestic shipping methods in the supplier tab for two active suppliers (myself and another supplier).(User>Supplier>edit>Shipping Methods)

I have two international shipping methods and Three USPS domestic methods. All manual.

I was changing the settings to see how to work with two suppliers in case a person buys an item from each suppler.

I almost had it working and for the entire time, i was able to see all the methods in the shipping method tab with each supplier with a check-box to choose the shipping method. Now all I have for each supplier are the two international methods and shipping does not work.

I also am not sure about setting up a shipping method. There is a drop-down when setting up a shipping method with all the suppliers and you have to choose one. I think this was before 2.1 and now they have the shipping method selection with the users-suppliers. I am not sure how the drop-down in the method, works with the check-boxes in the supplier tab.

I cleared caches, unless their is a specific one to clear that I am not aware of.

Does any one have any ideas? Maybe best to delete the shipping methods and start over again.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi,

I seem to have gotten back the shipping methods in the User>Supplier>edit Tab.

I just kept playing around with the methods and was able to remove the supplier name from the method by playing with the drop-down from withing the shipping method.

I think that when cs-cart reconfigured the suppliers in 2.1, they may not have needed the supplier drop-down in each shipping method. Maybe they replaced that with the check-boxes for shipping method from within user>supplier>edit>shipping methods and now their can be a conflict.

Anyone else having a problem with multiple suppliers and multiple shipping methods?

Thanks,

Bob

Sure am Bob, tis broken.

I have groups of products that are attached to a supplier. Each supplier can have different shipping methods or some similar but a bit different.

I am not able to get it to work anymore successfully, so have put everything on one basic method until the CS guys fix it.

Do you have this too? If you have say two shipping methods, at the checkout level, you can’t change the method from the default method. I have a bug open on this.

Most frustrating as the shipping methods worked perfectly with 2.0 - broken in 2.1.

Cheers,

Greg

Greg,

I think I saw your bug, and I saw this also. Again, I am just playing around and I change in the cart the shipping address and zip and then change the shipping address in the cart both the one page or multiple page checkout, I sometimes can’t change it.

My problem is in the shipping methods when using multiple suppliers. I just think something was not taken care of when they modified the supplier configuration in 2.1.

I have a hard time documenting the problem because I get the problem, play around (deleting/ re-saving etc. and eventually it gets fixed. Right now I am ok and what I notice is that in the shipping methods, it used to have the supplier beside the method, and now it does not. Everything looks ok now. However, when I create another method, there is still a drop-down for supplier and this causes a problem.

Has your bug been worked on yet?

Thanks,

Bob

So by deleting the shipping methods and re-create them, you get a fix? Gosh I hope its that easy. Is that what you did (errr if you can remember that is).

Alex has been busy + the w/e over there. I’m Downunder so today is Tuesday afternoon. Hopefully he visits my site and has a look at the issue.

Bob, I am so relieved that somebody else has the issues. I was starting to feel even more ugly lol.

Bob, wasnt there check boxes in each Shipping Method for the suppliers in 2.0? (Changed to a dropdown in 2.1)

Greg

Even though I had the cart for years, I am just starting to use it. I know cs-cart switched the way they do suppliers from a add-on to be part of the core. I thought it was with 2.1, maybe 2.0.

I don’t understand how the drop down in the shipping methods works with the checkboxes in the tab (shipping methods available for the supplier).

I have other problems, but with “dissapearing” and reappearing checkboxes for the shipping methods that are active, this causes additional frustration.

My main problem is having an item in the cart from a dropshipper and and item I ship. I end up getting two shipping method choices, one for each supplier. One choice could be for 7.95 for one item and 3.00 for another item for another supplier. They should be added together. Of course, the customer would pick the 3.00 over the 7.95.

No sense spending time on it if there is actually a bug in this area of the configuration. Will have to do something else as a workaround.

Bob

If you have a parcel you ship and one from a drop shipper, why would you want them together, they will be despatched separately and delivered separately and paid for by you separately! Customer will know exactly where they are and the cart has always done this as far as I can remember.

Barry,

Yes, you are correct. They are to be shipped separately, but what I wanted is one shipping price. Right now, the customer is presented with a choice where they can pick only one.

The one radio button is for $7.95, which is for shipping the item from the drop-shipper and the other is for $3.00, which is the cost for shipping the item that I ship. What I wanted was a single radio button for 10.95.

Everything I try to modify the shipping methods to experiment to get the right combination, things get messed up to the point that all the available active methods are not available as check boxes in the suppler shipping tab. I finally work it out, but its like solving Rubik cube. You get the answer, but don’t know how you got there and then it is messed up again.

Hi Bob

If you have got the suppliers set up for the different products ie yuo and a drop shipper, then your customer will not have a choice, they will by default get both options and there is a total for shipping.

Barry

Two shipping options, suppliers: us and drop shipper. Customer doesn’t have a choice both are selected.
