Newsletter Integration

Was wondering if anyone uses a 3rd party newsletter app?

Would users be interested in integration with apps like

mailchimp.com

constantcontact.com

icontact.com

I haven’t yet but I have talked with some people who use MailChimp. They seem to love it. http://www.mailchimp.com/

Also MailChimp supports e commerce integration and they have a dedicated page explaining the API. http://www.mailchimp.com/api/

I looked at the plug-ins available now and CS-Cart is not there.

Someone should write the plug-in for this so people can integrate MailChimp and/or some other programs like this.

Oh and MailChimp recommends these guys if nobody here is willing to integrate. http://www.mailchimp.com/experts/

Anyone?

Hello CS-Carter,

I’m interested by MailChimp.

I use Send Blaster, pretty straight forward and it’s not expensive either, but this is not a php app, so…

What would an addon that integrated with mailChimp be worth to people? Would you spend $50/domain for the capability?

Hello Tbirnseth,

Please, have a look at features:

I’m quite familiar with mail-chimp. Given there are only 15 responses in the poll of people who use an outside email marketing/survey system, it would seem that there would not be enough interest in an addon for me to make a profit. I’d need a minumum 10 people who were committed to this in order to justify the effort it would take to do the addon (I…e. break even).

i would like to know whether i can use pommo to send out newsletter?

We are using MailChimp. Really impressed with this app, got a pretty good opening rate and bunch of tools to import contacts from and track the campaigns.

In order to use MailChimp with CS-Cart you got 2 options: integrate using mailchimp API or just export ur subscribers as csv and then upload to mailchimp.

Oh, also you can add a fancy form from MailChimp to your site to enable visitor subscription

I’m currently using mailchimp (just started actually) and so far their site has worked well, but I am having some integration problems with my HTML block (it is causing some problems with tabs in CS cart) - so it’s not a fool-proof solution or 100% plug and play…just FYI for everyone.

You might get someone who would be willing to pay more to help develop it. If you opened a thread with the functionality you would offer and the bottom-line amount you need to get paid, let’s see how many people are interested.

I am interested in this integration.

Mailchimp PLEASE!

I posted a proposal for an addon here: http://forum.cs-cart.com/showthread.php?p=101552#post101552

Hello Friend;

Please kindly tell us how you integrated mailchim to your cscart site. I want to do so in my site and need a step-by-step process.

Thanks

MailChimp recently released a proposal for a $1 Million Integration Fund. They will be paying parties to build integration. Someone should build this.

Some functions that would be great for CS-CART:

-Signup modules

-Contact synchronization

-Analytics and reporting

-Autoresponders

-Order follow-ups

In process… Probably ready for a beta test in about a week. 1st release will:

Export current users to chosen mailchimp “list”.

Export current customers from current orders to chosen mailchimp “list”

Export current orders as “ecomm” to mailchimp to be used as mailchimp “static segments” in mailchimp campaigns.

Incorporate a mailchimp signup into a cs-cart “block” and subscribe to configured list.

When new order is received, customer has option to “opt out” on checkout page. This will be kept as part of the order for future reference.

If customer does not opt_out, they will be added to a configurable mailchimp list in the following precedence: list assigned to product, list assigned to category, default list. An “ecomm” entry will also be made.

Lists (to be used by this addon) must already exist in mailchimp (mailchimp requirement). They must also be configured to utilize a defined set of mailchimp MergeFields ( will be documented and lists used will have these merge fields added to the list).

Do not see a need to manage campaigns from the cart.

2nd release will do things like display current mailchimp statistics for lists being used with cs-cart.

Target Emails by Purchase Activity

Lee Li Pop

Yes, that is planned for the 1st release…

First release is intending to cover:

  • Export of existing users to specified lists in mailChimp
  • Export of existing customers (from orders) to specified lists in mailChimp
  • Adding of previous order activity (customers, products, totals, geography, etc.) from existing orders.
  • Export of new orders via the mailChimp ecomm (per the link above)
  • Ability to define lists within products or categories that should have customers added for specific categories/products.
  • Optout checkbox for checkout page.
  • Statistics on mailchimp lists.

Will not do anything with campaigns at this point. That should be managed within mailChimp.

Should be about a week till ready for beta.

Hello Tbirnseth,

I am both happy and unhappy:

Happy to know a programmer like you is working on this module.

Unhappy, because my flagship website works with VM (Although I can do a test on one of my secondary sites operating with CSC. I need to think… And know your price too!).

So I could not enjoy your work now, but soon when I will update my website, I’ll buy your add-on.

For indeed, the customer relationship is the foundation of eCommerce.

Bravo and thank you for your contribution!
