Hi,

Has any1 tried or made that instead oh thumbnail image you can have large image on detail page?

I prefer to have large image on detail page.

I tried to copy code from popup_image.tpl but then i get no image pic instead of real image.

Thanks
UrKo

I am currently doing a redesign for our store and will include this feature in it. Small thumbnails is bad because it causes more clicking for customers, and big thumbnails gives a better eye-catching overview.

However I am working with 1.3.4 and image.tpl, CS-Cart has for some reason put width="" and height="" upon images in the templates. Remove these and also change the thumbnail width and height in settings.
Marketing tip:

Did you know a targeted e-mail marketing campaign can bring conversion rates up to 3.9%? By using reliable e-mail marketing software you can upsell to existing customers on a tight budget. If you are not using e-mail marketing you are missing out big time. I recommend and use Aweber.

In 1.3.4 it is common_templates/image.tpl

Search for "width" and "height" and play around until you find the correct ones to change.

I changed it but still it shows small pic...
I'll try to play a little bit more...

one more question. I dont want to open new topic so i'll just ask here.

Does any1 knows why all the suddenly the image for discount has disappered??

Posted Image

I dont know what i did and i cant see this anymore.

Now the discount in percentage is shown like that:
You save: €1,50(12%)

I prefer the feature with image ( looks cool:D) and would like to use it.

thanks,
UrKo

The image only appears when you make a new discount in "Discounts and coupons" for products, not when editing the product.

I beg to differ sir :)
I once bounced that idea but left it out due to the large variation of screen resolutions. Having said that most people don't want to see a slow-loading page if a thumbnail is big enough to show a decent view of the products.

For the present moment I only have the thumbnail view available and larger upon clicking. Let me know however if it increases sales :)
I've moved on from CS-Cart to WooC******** - If you need anything I can be of little help.

I'll do an analytics report on it! ;)

There is usually no "big" bandwidth issue if you optimize your images, you can get them pretty small in size and still have them look alright. The only people that might see an increase in loading is modem users.

Most people in my country has DSL, more % than in the US I believe, so that is not a problem for me. :)

I just dislike the idea of clicking and clicking and clicking to view everything. And clicking causes extra loading times to wait for each page to load everytime. But that is my opinion of course.

Analytics report would be welcome.
Modem users.. hmm, well I'll spit the dummy here. Australia is LAGGING beyond definition when it comes to (A)DSL takeup. Telstra the biggest ISP
www.bigpond.com
has JUST unlocked the speed quota to 1.5MB. understandably you've got a wholly different market (Lucky you lol)
dialup is still 'standard'

If the image can't be viewed at a thumbnail then I'ld advocate having the full image available upon loading the page. because I specialise in auto parts most people don't need the images  despite being asked to upload them

i dont know why, but even though i like the CS-cart i do think that support sucks....

Dont get me wrong here, but i believe that once i purchase something i can get some support from the creators of CS cart.

I dont know php so making a small change to the code for me is impossible. So when i asked also in support desk about my problem or wish they said that they can do it but will have to pay for it.
As i purchased Cs cart less than a month ago, i was under the impression that i get 30 days free support, therefor was expecting to get the answer about my "simple" question.

I never had this kind of problem when running asp CandyPress store, but as company that i work for changed hosts i needed a new cart, coz the new host supports only php, and company does not want to go back to previous host or any other.
As i said, support in candypress is perfect...free, and 99,9% of times you will get solution from its developer team about trying to do modefication...if not a complete source than a few pointers and you'll be able to do it yourself.

Here i m, waiting almost a month and still no answer. My shop is on hold, my boss is getting impatiened.

So CS people, if you read this i would very much appreciated if you can just answer me if this is possible and what files, code must i change so that i can get the large image shown on product detail page, as i always do 2 images (thumbnails and large images) so that page loads faster.

I really hope i will get the answer as i dont want the refund as the cart u created is really good.

Thanks
UrKo

The problem here is that nobody works for free. I am sure you do not either.

If anyone is in the same seat and has found a solution, I am sure they would help. I share the mods I have made that I find useful to others. But I wouldn't sit down and try to fix someone elses problem. And I find it hard to see that anyone else would either.

If you are in hurry and need a solution quick, you might re-consider paying someone to fix your problems.

Otherwise, patience is a virtue..

Funny thing is, that php is also known as opensource etc...and asp not ( well in 95% is not).
And when i purchased asp store, ppl were sharing its mods ( free of charge), helping other members with its problems, Candypress ppl are helping other to modificate the code free of charge, etc...hell, even i made a mod for Candypress i share it with others....

But here i find that every1 wants to make it for a fee. I would understand that some1 would make me the mod for a fee if i would need serious change to my code, but changing only a fraction of a code, makes me upset that no1 is willing to do so if they know the answer.

As said in my previous post, i will not ask for refund, because i read other members about quality of cs cart.....so no point of searching for other cart if i have #1 cart in php.

I just hope some1 will be kind ebnough to point me in the right direction and if i get a problem when trying to change the code, i'll get the answer about what went wrong and how to fix it....

Are you saying that this is not happening here? I suggest you read a few other threads.

But here i find that every1 wants to make it for a fee.

I'm sorry, but that claim is pure bullsh*t. Find me a mod on this forum that costs money, please.

makes me upset that no1 is willing to do so if they know the answer.

You're wrong again. If anybody did know they would share it, please read the other threads on the forum. However if nobody knows, what is there to share?

Like I said, nobody is going to sit down, spend their own personal or work time, learn the code, fix your problem for YOU. Unless they have the same problem and find a solution to it.

If you are willing to do a lot of coding for free I have a bunch of mods that need help. Do you work for free? ;)

You can't demand a solution to your problem by volunteers on the community forum. It works the same way with any open source software.

For Candypress you pay for each upgrade, on CS-Cart you have bought a package which gives you FREE upgrades for LIFE.

Get your boss to pay for it.

No point of discussing this anymore...I stand by my posts about sharing, helping etc..as i have seen on many sites ppl, willing to do so...even if they seat behind the desk for a few minutes to take a look at the code just to try and give you the answer.
But of course this happened on other sites...will not mentioned them here.

As for CP upgrade...you're only partly right. I did upgrade from 2.5 to 3.1 for free.
But a new version came out 3.5 which you need to pay ( 50% less if you own CP store ) to upgrade....would rather pay CS for the upgrade than to wait 30 or more days for a little help on so called support forum!

I opened this thread and i think it was the right thing to do to post here about that.
I dont blame any1 and i understand you or any other member being upset at me right now, but never have i waited that long to work out the problem.
Im wiling to contribute to this forum and also try to learn a little php to work out my problem but would need a hlep from u guys as you are familiar with php.
That was my point!

So before you start judging me....think.

Remember this forum is not a forum where you can "demand" modifications or help from any user or CSCart, just becasue you bought and use the product too. As can be read on the main site:

"On our forums you can communicate with other CS-Cart owners." Nothing more, nothing less.

If you want a mod, and are not willing to wait and see if someone does it for free, you just have to pay and hire someone to do it for you, either CSCart or someone else. I don't see what's the big deal about that.
