I thought i would drop an animated gif in for use as a product image, but the image is static. Is it not possible to do this?
Do you have it set so the cart automatically generates thumbnails? If so, it more than likely remade the image and it lost it’s animation. You could just upload the gif to the product images directory, overwriting the existing image, and it should work then.

Is there any way to make animation work on the product page???
The above techinique works for catalog and catagories but when I open the product it doesn't animate , Have to click zoom on it to make the animation work in the new pop-up window.
Any help will be appreciated thanks…

Possibly for the same reason as in post 2, try deleting the thumbnail image then upload your own in the product page.
