Product page messed up after upgrading to 2.13 & 2.14

Hi there,

Anyone have the same problem as seen on picture?

I have the original css files with no modifications.

Yes,

I have the same problem. 2.0.13 was ok, except for the placement of the checkout button.

This was "fixed in 2.0.14, but now the product image and everything else is pushed to the right. Image is attached.

So, if anyone knows how to solve this, I would appreciate.

Thanks in advance

I think cs-cart should solve the problem. They were only suppose to put things back the way they were before 2.0.13. I did not have this problem with 2.0.12.

This last update has forced me to sort out installing xampp and testing these b&
$%$ updates before letting them near the live store… :???:

Neither one of these recent upgrades is ready for prime time IMHO. I have reverted back to 2.0.12.

How many of you have had success with the “Revert Back” function ?

I am disgusted with version .13 and want to go back to .12, but the task of making a copy of my store & DB & testing it out in a sub-directory with a fresh copy of .12 is daunting. I had some issues similar to this with .13, and of course they want money to help me fix them :-x

I am not seeing this issue with 2.0.14. If one of you can send me a link to your site, I can take a look at your CSS and see how it differs from mine.

It happens only when “Display mini thumbnail images as a gallery” is checked in Design->Appearance settings.

It appears to work fine on a fresh install of 2.0.14 but there are problems on an upgraded install.

Running 2.14 and don’t see this problem. I upgraded from 2.12 right to 13 and then right to 14.

Don’t even know what that Display mini thumbnail images as a gallery does.

When the option is checked, it creates a carousel under the main image instead of showing all images at one. It’s only an issue if you have the option checked and have additional images for the item, at least that;s what I have found.

Does CS-Cart even test their releases? I mean if all of us upgrade our carts and then in under 30 seconds we see layout problems then why can’t they? Our company has moved all our sites to CS-Cart from X-Cart, but it must be said that “X” is a far, far more stable, less buggy cart. We used them for 4 years or more and had none of these issues.

Not to mention it doesn’t look like CS-Cart learns from their mistakes either. They’ve had several well documented issues with 2.0.x upgrades and yet they still continue. So the question must be, why? Why not learn from your mistakes so you don’t repeat them. We’re all using their cart to make money and when they release consistently buggy software they jeopardize our sites and sales.

Sorry for the rant but I’m getting very tired of this.

I have that checked and I did an upgrade from 2.0.12 to .13 and now .14.

Hmmm. Wonder what the difference is?

I diffed styles.css and found the jcarousel stuff missing in the styles.css for the active skin. I pasted it in, but no difference. I then replaced the styles.css with the version from a fresh install of 2.0.14 - still no change.

Maybe there is a class assignment missing in the code.

Bob

there were quite a few jcarousel items in the css
there were quite a few jcarousel items in the css
Yeah, I copied a significant chunk at the end of the file and pasted it in. There were several other changes but none that looked to be related to jcarousel.

That still does not explain why the styles.css copied from a fresh install of 2.0.14 into an upgraded 2.0.14 would not fix the issue. There must be something else as well.

Bob

Lo and behold it started working. I had cleared cache numerous times after copying the styles.css - from a fresh installation of 2.0.14 - to no avail.

I unchecked “Display mini thumbnail images as a gallery” and saved then checked the setting and saved again - it now works.

Thanks alot, it solves the problem. Actually I didn’t noticed that is possible to turn off that “feature”

The upgrade didn’t give me the thumbnail problem, but completely removed my right-side navigation boxes, and added a bunch of blank space towards the bottom of the page. This seems to only be on the product page.

?? I checked the customer/views/products/view.tpl file, but don’t really see anything strange. Any ideas?

When I turned the gallery back on after disabling it as above, it started working fine. The field may just not have been properly set during the upgrade.
