Trouble Upgrading

I’m trying to upgrade my v1 store to v2. I can get a clean v2 to run but when I try to migrate the database, the site doesn’t load. In most cases the home page is simply blank white but sometimes I’ll get a “fatal error”. Since I can get the v2 store to work before the upgrade, I’m thinking something breaks down in between. I’ve also tried installing the various “upgrades” to bring the version to 2.0.12 but that doesn’t solve the problem.



Any ideas?

Fatal Error will normally indicate a change in the file system which means the rest of the site can’t be processed. A “blank white” would indicate that your server is out of memory (specifically you account) or security software blocking the output (suhosin / mod_security etc)



Try to increase the memory available from your config.local.php file to something like 64MB and see how you go there.

I should have added that I tried the memory fix and it didn’t work. Also, the admin panel works fine, if that’s worth anything. The white screen is white in the sense that there is no content but you can tell the browser is accessing the site. If I view source, I get the headings, meta tags and javascript. The only GUI coding is this:

Nothing else loads beyond this. The server's memory usage appears to be around 35% or so according to the server summary.

Reinstall the skin.

Tried multiple skins and still no go…

Well, I got it to work. Apparently there’s some kind of issue with the “Newest Products” block because once I disabled it, the cart loaded.

Contact Roban, he upgraded us from 1.3.5 SP3 to the current version and did a great job - very fast and easy to work with.
