Why upgrade from 1.3.5 to 2.0.12

I have been using CSCart ver. 1.3.5 for more thatn a year and am generally happy with it. (Although it does drive me crazy trying to get additonal images to come up in the proper order.) What advantage is there in upgrading to ver. 2.0.12 (or whatever is current)? Is the upgrade relatively seamless or is there a lot of relisting (i have 900 products) involved?

The upgrade from 1.3.5 sp4 to 2.0.8 should be done in a test directory and is fairly straight forward. I have done this many times for clients. After the new site has been tested it can be moved to the root directory and upgraded all the way to 2.0.12.

IMO the reasons to upgrade are the new ways to design and the added features.

I’ve been struggling with this decision too. I believe though, there needs to be an upgrade in order to be PCI compliant if you process credit cards.

I agree with you 100 percent! When I paid someone to upgrade my cart from 1.3.5 to 2.0.6 my site was down for a while because they updated the root directly instead of creating a separate sub-directory to work out the bugs.
