Here we go again. set_time_limit has been disabled error

Hey everyone,

I have 1 final error to deal with and my cart is complete

But I have no idea why it is showing. i have attached it to this message. It seems to be moaning about something or other…saying that set_time_limit() has been disabled.

Anyone know what the problem might be?. Many thanks

Jon

LOL @ Roban

set_time_limit() is a PHP function… have your host check the security settings for that function in their PHP settings

 thanks racingsolution

EDIT: I’ve contacted the host this morning. Hopefully I hear back soon and I can provide an update.

cheers

Hi everyone,

This is the reply I got from my host regarding the issue.

[QUOTE]Hi Jon B,

Thank you for your query

The php.ini file is a special file that allows you to change the configuration of PHP on a webserver. For security reasons it is not possible to edit this on our shared hosting platform.

So basically they are not willing to help me once again. Very annoying because I’m now stuck with the daft error message when customers go through the payment process…and sometimes it appears in admin as well :frowning:

From what I’ve read there are no other workarounds… Time to find a new host

grrrrrr. The only work around for the time being is to make the text white for the erro. What a nightmare.

The funny thing is I also have an exact same account with the host and don’t get the error. I upload and configure exactly the same CS Cart and it’s fine. I have had my account for 4 years though and maybe at the time it was enabled.

But the client only recently signed up and maybe the shared resource he’s assigned to has this blimmin thing disabled. Crazy and annoying. It doesn’t seem to have any ill effect to the functionality of the site thank god, but none the less it’s a pain in the backside.

They don’t seem to care much for their customers. Just basically say “sorry it can’t be done…tough luck and goodbye”.

I’ll guarantee that the “exact same account” resides between two servers, one where it works on yours, the other your clients.

I will take this into consideration if I build another CS cart…and will not be using the said host.

Can it be confirmed that this error will not have any ill effect on the functionality of the cart?. It seems ok?

thanks
