Hi all,
I’m using the DB upgrade that CS-Cart released today (7-4-09). I’ve followed the instructions including moving the images to the DB before the export and I am having a bit of an issue. I never get the “The database upgrade is finished successfully!” message. I get:

and that’s it. If I go to the site it seems I have just about everything but I don’t seem to have my pics, I’ve let it run for 4 hours and I only have ~25MB DB.
Any ideas.

Same problem here. After quite a while, I get an error saying “Mysql server has gone away.” Basically, it’s timing out because the upgrade is taking too long…maybe because of the images being in the DB?
Tried it on a local server. It didn’t time out this time, but it read, “Changing database structure,” then gave me these errors:
Database error: Table ‘gardenart.cscart_common_descriptions’ doesn’t exist (1146)
Invalid query: ALTER TABLE cscart_common_descriptions CONVERT TO CHARACTER SET utf8;
Have copied this to the support desk as well.
Ok here is where I am at.
I removed the new database.
I removed the cscart2 directory.
Backed up my current database as instructed and moved it to the new folder.
Re downloaded 2.05 and uploaded to site and recreated a new database.
started the normal install and changed directory permissions as instructed.
Since my store only has English I did not select any additional languages or demo data and left the default skin during the install.
Ran the upgrade script and it ran for about 10 minutes as my database was just under 40 megs.
It seems that everything has been transferred over. I am going through the store now to check it out.

I had this problem when trying to run the script in IE, when i ran it in firefox it worked prefectly. Weird: -?
I had the same problem as tletourneau.

PS: Have you noticed that the install.txt states that the permission should be
chmod 666 config.local.php
chmod -R 777 catalog
chmod -R 777 images
chmod -R 777 skins
chmod -R 777 var
where as the Installation wizard states that the permissions should be
config.local.php - read/write for all users (666)
/catalog - read/write/execute for all users (777)
/images (and all its subdirectories) - read/write/execute for all users (777)
/skins - read/write/execute for all users (777)
/var (and all its subdirectories) - read/write/execute for all users (777)
The way I read it is that there is a written conflict between install.txt and installation wizard for the folders of catalog and skins.
Update to my post above:

It was a IE8 problem after all.
Simply using Firefox was the fix.

Thanks dht, it does complete using firefox.
Now I just have to figure out the problem with my images. I’m having a lot of problems with all my pictures, none of them seem to be displaying correctly, if they display at all. You can see what I mean at Loading....
Any ideas will be appreciated!
