V.2 support forums?

Hi folks

We’re running a trial of the v2 cs-cart to replace the current site we have and we’re liking what we’re seeing , but these forums need to get with the release and separate the excellent support from each version.

Twice, we’ve thought we’ve found answers to questions we have, only to find that they relate to v1.xx

Just a suggestion :V

Cheers

I strongly second that motion.

I’ve been an avid participant on this forum and since the launch of V2 I find that I’m getting real tired of “parsing” through the posts to make sure it’s not V2 that I’m posting.

PLEASE CS-CART SUPPORT seperate the forum!

forum.cs-cart.com = v1.3.+

forum2.cs-cart.com = v2.+

Otherwise, I believe you are going to lose ALL the excellent support that is available here.

I 3rd that!

If anything, just create another section for 2.0. Would be a pain to move current 2.0 topics around but would be so much more organized.

I’d like to see cs-cart 3 section…

I just installed V2 trial version and would also like to see a section of the forum devoted specifically to V2. Thanks!

I’ve just posted this to CS-CART support and their response was:
We appreciate your calling this matter to our attention. Thank you for the suggestion. This information has been forwarded to the responsible people for considering and taking further decisions.
Maybe if we can get enough posts here about this they will be considerate enough to make this much needed change to the forum.

It is under review by CS-Cart.

Another week or two to review and plan changes.

Go grab a beer

Thanks for the update on this.

Little early in the moring for that

It’s vBulletin for pete sake. Just click a couple of buttons and create a new topic and spend 30 minutes moving all posts for V2 there.

Its not the task of moving, its the discussion by CS of how they want to lay it out. Wont happen this week.

Any update on this?

I’m getting to the point that it is no longer worth my time trying to work with this forum. I’m not upgrading as I said, so I am not interested in v2.+

And as was mentioned above:
Just click a couple of buttons and create a new topic and spend 30 minutes moving all posts for V2 there.
Please someone take a coffee break and get this done.

Is it just me, or is anyone else wondering if any of the actual CS-Cart employees ever take a few minutes to monitor there forums? It would go a very long way to at least see one or two forum responses a week from an actual CS-Cart employee letting us know that we are not just talking to ourselves! You could say that it is very important at times to know we (all the CS-Cart users) are actually being heard & that CS-Cart actually cares about what we have to say!

I hope that CS-Cart takes this as constructive criticism, as that is my intention!

And Webguy, you have been far too helpful to everyone working on 1.3.5, so, you have to upgrade to version 2.xxx soon so that you can get up to speed with the latest & greatest & continue to provide your great assistance!

Thanks Stuck,

I appreciate your comments…as I have tried to help as much as I can.

As far as upgrading to CS v.2.+…this isn’t going to happen very soon, probably not for at least a year.

Why?

I spent over 3 months and quite a bit of money on 1.3.5sp4…in order for me to actually upgrade it would cost me another bushel of money to port it all to v2.+ unless CS-CART support would be willing to do that for free I’m “stuck”…

I know there are a lot of users still on 1.3.5ps4 and I would like to still continue to help them, but the influx of v2 users mixed with the 1.3.5 users is just too time consuming for me (I do have a full-time job and run a “freelance” business).

As such, if this separation of the forum doesn’t happen soon (1 week) I will no longer partcipate here. I’m sorry but that’s just the way it is.

I also posted a request on the help desk, actually a month ago. I am not so sore about waiting for a bona fide v2 forum but the hacker post are too annoying. I get email notifications thinking they are genuine and when I log into the forum some retard posting sneakers and underwear to some phony Web site. How the heck are these folks logging in anyways?

Agree with the spam problem. The least they could do is restrict access to those areas as they do in the most of the other sub-forums. I am getting really tired of wading through the **** every day.

Hi

I keep “FLAGGING” them, but not sure if it helps?

BarryH

Can we PLEASE NOT CHANGE THE SUBJECT OF THIS ORIGINAL POST!

I am trying to make a point to CS-CART that the forums need to be seperated for ease of use, continued support and allow for those of us who do help each other to continue to do so.

If you are not pleased with spam, please start another post. Don’t hijack this one.

No offense but if they aren’t going to take care of the spam problem, what makes you think they are going to organize the forums?

I can understand your supposition, I was just hoping that enough of us posted on this subject that would make CS-CART to consider doing this, it’s not that hard at all to do…

As I said I won’t be attending the forum any more until this is implemented.

I’m hoping more of us who do post on a regular basis would do the same

I think you would see CS-CART react to this request. As I’m sure they are aware one of their greatest selling points are these forums…and if they start to lose us they will certainly start to lose business.
