Options & Inventory

Yes you can

One way is you can use Global options.

Admin-Catalog-Global Options

  1. Goto manage product page, make sure “Inventory:” is set to “Track with options”.
  2. Click on “Options” tab.
  3. Add required options for product, either global or local.
  4. Click on “Options combinations”
  5. Either add desired combinations manually or click on “Rebuild combinations” and the cart will automatically build every combination possible.

You can then add inventory for each combination.

    Hope this helps.

I have a situation:

Lets say I have a product XXX.

I define 2 option combinations with seperate SKU (XXXb and XXXc), with inventory tracking enabled.

How is inventory tracked for a product XXX (parent item, not the combinations…)?

A client is able to add to cart a product XXX from a product list without picking an option! Should XXX SKU also be in combination list?

I just installed CS-Cart 2.08 and it took me a while to find the Track with options selection. It is located Under: catalog/products/general (about half way down)

then the ‘option combinations’ is a text link under the Catalog/products/options tab

Thank you baballuci!

Hey!

I need to have a function that it is for " made to order"

can anyone help?

basically so customer can still buy when there is no inventory and the stock is made in 1-2 days turn around time

how do i have this option? the buy in advance doesnt seem to work, as it is available after the sale is made and it has been made. We do not want to hold onto a surplus of stock.

thanks

Hello!
In order to do it go to Admin panel ->Settings -> General and check the "Allow negative amount in inventory" setting.
Sincerely yours,
CS-Market team .

You can also set the Out of stock actions setting to SIgn up for notification so that you can plan the required amount of items

You will need to show on both product page, as well as on checkout that there are X additional days waiting time. The expected delivery date is the replenishing time plus shipping time.

This function is not available in CS-Cart. An addon will be needed for it. Cs-cart has no function for replenishing time nor for shipping time calculation.

The "Track with Inventory" option is not visible/available until you click "create" or are the Shipping Options' 'Options' Tabs.. they are not visible until you click create.. It seems there are a lot of extra unneeded steps to create a product with options..

My current process:

  • Click "Add Product"
  • Enter all data; photo, price, etc (option combinations not visible yet)
  • Click "Create" (now other tabs are visible; shippings, options, etc)
  • Click into Options tab
  • Add Options
  • Go back to General Tab
  • Change to Track With Options
  • Click Save
  • Scroll back to Inventory section and click Edit
  • Click Add combination or rebuild Combination
  • Enter inventory amounts for each combination
  • Click Save
  • Then Click Back button..? Or return arrow..? I am confused how to back to main product details.
  • Once back on main product details, Click Save
  • Now the product is live on the storefront.

Is this the easiest and fastest way to create a product with options and enter the inventory? It seems like it must be a more simple way..

Is there a more simple process?
