I was thinking that it was just me when I thought it was super slow, but I guess not.
The speed is horrible, it takes forever to do anything.
And I agree, duplicating an OS, really? Not my cup of tea I guess. Interesting idea I guess though.

I read your signature and am curious. Why do you feel the forum has gotten really bad? Not trying to start any arguments, just curious.
We’re definitely missing some members that were really valuable to the community. Do you think this is one reason why it has gone down hill, or do you think your reasons are why those members left?
Also, if you are considering leaving CS-Cart, what else have you been looking into that comes at least close to CS-Cart?
Again, just curious.

Yes, the forum has lost many good members. Many of which have been very helpful to me. This is the biggest thing that has gone bad on the forum. I really have no idea why some left. For me the forum has become a big plugging place for some who do not want to invest in real advertising. For others it is a place to make fun of others. The sad part is some of those that plug are also admins that will zap your post. Half the time you’re doing good to get a reply to a post before one of the almighty admins come by and zap a good post for no reason.
On the cart to switch to, we have been looking for almost a year now. That is what caught my attention on TomatoCart. I figured I would check it out. I don’t think CS has too much to worry about with TomatoCart until they get their speed much faster.
We are probably going to be using CS for some of our sites with less traffic or sales. Even with the advances that CS has made with 2.?, I just don’t feel CS-Cart has made their shopping cart simple enough for customers, and powerful enough for site owners. So we would be better off to switch sites that “pay the bills” to a shopping cart that is easier for my customers to check out on…even if I can’t get the admin to do what I want on the back end. I’m not for sure if this makes sense or not.
These are just a couple of the reasons we are looking we are looking around.
Either way, unless Tomato Cart can get some speed there won’t be any way to really see what they can do.
Be interested in hearing about this “admin zapping my threads”?
Last I checked your review of SCH is still up… and untouched.

What happened to ET? someone zapped ALL of his posts overnight
I believe we started loosing members awhile back when CS was having alot of growing pains and it’s possible too many people expected too much too fast, I know I did and the wait has been unbearable but I feel we’re finally at a point where CS is becoming a dominant competitor. Yea yea yea I know I rant and rave about CS on a regular basis but if someone isn’t complaining and pointing out issues then their’s no where to grow. Some members will eventually come back but the heavy hitter is next.
The economy has hammered the little guys like us, the forums once flourished before the economy took a dive for the worst. It looks like most of the folks who were on here either dried up as a result and went out of business or just threw the towel in and called it quits before they buried themselves. I’m taking a bet once the economy improves, if it ever does in our lifetime, that those dormant CS-Cart license holders will become active again.
Hello All,
Another alternative, maybe some of the best members are no more in this forum, simply because they are no longer in development phase, and they will come back when they will update their site.

I have had threads zapped and altered. I have seen threads that were zapped in places where I’ve posted. I’m sure there are stories from others.
Other than that I would like to “plead the 5th”.

Point well taken. There probably are some people who have not really left the forum but because they are either out of development stage or they could just be out of business, they are not around any longer. There are some times in the year when I can visit the forum more and some times much less. Since we are looking a little deeper in to what we are going to do next year, we have been in the forum and visiting other shopping carts a lot more.

On the issue of the thread still being up about SCH…yes it is. Likewise my trouble ticket directly with SCH is still open since 11/9 and no one from their company has responded. So my guess is none of the support team from SCH is working as they haven’t had time to post in the forum to that thread or respond to my ticket in their help area?

Like I’ve said before people need to stay away from these little mom and pop hosting operations who do nothing more then act as the middleman between the actual host and you - Sno

You’re right, they act as a flypaper…
If their services were effective, this “children’s story” could be wonderful, but this is not the case. Like a flypaper…
