Anybody else notice that this editor changes characters such as quotation marks to " among others? Is there a way to stop this from happening?
Unfortunately I have editted numerous product descriptions that have character such as quotation marks, trademarks, degree characters, etc…that now have strange characters in place of them. I didn’t notice it until a customer brought it to my attention and now I am trying to figure out the easiest way to go about correcting it.
I tried to use the replace function in excel to change the " to " but kept getting “Formula too long” what ever that is supposed to mean.
Any and all information appreciated.
In the WYSIWYG editor, click source at the top. Then enter your " in there. If it still changes, then don’t worry about it. It will show the same thing. When you enter it in the default view, it will change several characters that act like HTML such as <, >, and ". This way they don’t become HTML.
Thanks for the reply Matt. Yeah, I figured it out to use the “Source” function…problem is that I have a huge amount of editting to do because of not realizing it in the first place. The previous version didn’t change it to HTML.
