Why Cs Cart Lacks Of Good Looking (Modern) Themes

True, they need to update their theme to modern touch, which is easy to use.

As much as I hate to admit it, the lack of themes, the lack of anything remotely relating to a single business and not multi has caused me to re-evaluate using cs-cart

I am over it, the grief, the not being able to get anything that actually looks good or works

Had the same theme for years loved it, worked well, need to upgrade and their new theme is 100% focused on multi vender, useless to me and horribly ugly.

Major shame actually, but I simply cannot take anymore of this at all :(

Months of trying to get it to work effectively with zero success

Have you considered Vivashop by EnergoThemes?

Not sure I should be saying this, but I have used Vivashop for years, and loved it, the new one which I need to upgrade to to upgrade cs-cart is not working for me.

Every image for categories has to change because they are now round, there is nothing but single product highlights anywhere, being an individual shop I need to let people know about categories, what we do as a retailer, not just about products.

I am a niche market, really niche market with older people my main customers, pushing buttons to move to a screen behind in advertising is not going to work for me at all.

The full width is not something my customers are going to enjoy, hmmm I do not enjoy it, too much information too fast, and too much screen space, the narrower version worked really well for me.

Every banner has to change, there is no-where to place anything about my store, i.e. featured categories no longer there, the message box on entry gone, used that all the time.

I did actually purchase the new theme, but unfortunately cannot use it, do not have the knowledge to change what needs to be changed on the front page, cannot make it narrow, and yes I know it is in the pipeline, but not now.

I have been unable to upgrade cs-cart, I have also purchased another theme when I found my issues, but that in itself has major flaws when you have 17 - 19 main categories, no other menu but vivashop caters for those.

I am stuck, I am stressing, and actually pretty shattered.

does not matter what I choose or what I do I am talking a huge amount of both money and time, neither of which I have. Already wasted weeks and weeks.

But having said all I have about Vivashop, if you are not a niche market with very particular needs, I cannot praise the guys at Energo highly enough, I have used them since 2012, and they are brilliant. This time around, they have catered to multi theme, which is just not workable for my store.

OK. I upgraded to their latest version recently, and it wasn't exactly a piece of cake, but I got it done and it looks great. I'm really sorry it didn't work out for you. I am also in a sort of a niche market with a specific genre of books, and it works good for me.

@kingsleypress, I have just had a look at your site, it looks really good, you have done great.

Really do wish it would work for me.

Maybe I need to get some help with my major issues, i.e. no longer having a short description on products working, I used that all the time for important information before people purchased.

And I really really need the tabs for extra info not just have them all listed below, because people simply do not scroll down

i.e. related products and features

My product range is just so wide, with so much related to others if you have 2 seconds are you able to have a quick look and let me know what you think sewingbuddies.com.au

Thank you

Juanita

I looked at your site. It shouldn't be insurmountable for you to upgrade to Vivashop 3. What I did was cloned my site to a subdirectory and did a trial run of the update there. I made all my banner graphics, etc. then when I was ready to go live on my real site, I just shut the site down for half a day while I did the update. Because I had some of the legwork done already, and knew what I was doing from working with the dev site, it wasn't bad at all. Energo's instructions for updgrading were spot on. I had held off for a while because it looked like a big hurdle to get over. I even tossed around moving to a different shopping cart altogether. So glad I stayed with CS-Cart and Viva.

I'm setting up a store using Vivashop 3 and I have tabs. The setting is under Settings>Appearance>Customer settings. Scroll down until you see the item "Display product details in tabs:", tick the box and you'll have tabs. I'm using CS-Cart v 4.12.2.SP2.

Yes, I should have mentioned that. Tabs turned off is my choice. If find that people don't always understand them, and I'd rather have the information visible without risking them not seeing it at all. But as Cindy says, you can definitely have tabs in VivaShop if you want them.

What’s your site? Where do you have bootstrap css and offer “a free to complete cs-cart shop”?
