Wholesale/retail pricing

yes if you create a user group and assign prices for that group. The customer must be logged into that group.

[quote name=‘Unregistered’]Thanks for that

Is it possible to create more than 1 wholesale group, say 2 levels of wholesale pricing. Also can this be tried on the demo site or do I need to download the trial.

CS-Cart referes to these as “User Groups”

You can create as many as you need, we use several different user groups in our site to assign different wholesale pricing, different payment options, etc.

Not sure if you can try this thru the demo site, best to install the trial yourself if you want to do thorough testing.

How are you dealing with assigning users to groups?

Seems odd to have options like “Retail” and “Wholesale” for the user to choose from.

CS-Cart how no way of knowing if a customer is wholesale or retail. I’ve dealt with this issue more times than I can imagine. Just today someone was asking, in effect, if CS-Cart could either read minds or see the future. If it could, I would be willing to pay more for it.

Unfortunately, the only way to know who is retail vs wholesale is to have them sign up, contact you for the right to qualify as a wholesaler, then, once they’ve qualified, you change their group. All the warehouse suppliers I work with make retailers and wholesalers qualify.

That’s essentially what we’re doing. Manually assigning users to a “wholesale” group upon qualifying is pretty straight-forward.

It would be a big help if the system would auto-assign new users to a “retail” user group. We have it mostly working, though it’s not perfect.

I agree, once a customer registers they should become a retail customer automatically and not just a user, then after qualifying is met changed to w/sale or whatever user group…
