A buddy of mine wants to buy this software but his requirement is that he can setup say a category called brake pads

Normal customer is charged normal price
Wholesale customer gets 40% discount
He wants to set this at the category level, not the product level.
Can cs cart do this, or will the new version be able to?
Discounts can be applied to:
Global - Category - Product - User
…with the added functionality of setting discounts to a membership level.
So you could set up a membership (Wholesale) then set a discount of 40% to the category available only to membership (Wholesale).
