Which php handler should I be using

I’ve just moved to a new host and I now have an issue with images not being stored. It looks like a permissions problem but the permissions in some of the images directories revert to 755 whenever I set them to 777.



I spoke to the hosting company and the said that the PHP handler currently running is suPHP which has many restrictions for using files and folders with 777 permission, They suggested that the php handler can be changed from suPHP to either dso or cgi.



I’m lost here and would appreciate input from anyone with knowledge of these things.

I believe the majority of CS-Cart users use DSO as the php handler. I certainly am and don't have any problems in regards to php nor permissions.
