When will Multi-Store be released and is that the same as Ultimate Edition?

Any information when this version will be released? Are they the same?

Also, can it be a replacement for ‘multi vendor’. Because I’m looking for a multi vendor solution (on different domains)

CS-Cart Ultimate and Multi-Store are the same thing – Multi-Store is just the old title.

If want to administrate multiple storefronts on different domains from the same admin panel, you need CS-Cart Ultimate. Multi- Vendor doesn't have such functionality, it just lets multiple vendors share the same storefront.



The exact release date is not yet defined, the estimated release date is spring 2012.

So, with CS-Cart Ultimate, all website have their 'own admin' as a vendor (?). So each 'vendor' can sell on their own website. (and all is connected to 1 main database as the 'main stores owners' ?

I still can't understand exactly what Ultimate will do. There's lots of talk about multiple domains, databases, etc…



I need software to work on one domain with one database, with multiple sellers, each seller may have their own “store” on the same website, all products displayed on the website, customers pay the seller directly. Somewhat like eBay, except without the auction. Will Ultimate do that?



Can anyone explain exactly what Ultimate will do, in simple terms. Everything I've read so far is just confusing.

sounds like multi-vendor edition is better suited for you steve… although i don't believe payments go to each individual vendor… but i could be wrong.

I've been trying to understand CS-Cart for some time. It seems to me that Multi-vendor is really a single website with multiple admins, while Multi-store / Ultimate is to centralise control of quite different webstores. There doesn't seem to be anything in between these two extremes.

In general, CS-Cart Ultimate Edition will have one admin panel for managing all storefronts, but you will be able to create different administrator accounts for managing different storefronts.

Kind of weird naming it the Ultimate Edition when it really isn't. Seems something called the Ultimate Edition should also include multl-vendor ability.
