Is there a fundemental difference between these two items? Does on of them do or offer something the other one doesn’t? I wish the manual was a little more explanatory. Thanks,

EDIT And where are Topics pages stored? I just backed up my db from my active server, but when/if i upload the back up to my testing server my newly created topics pages are not there? Any ideas?
topic is like categories, can have subcategories
