If you don't know or care about source code, read no further. However, if you expect source code with your CS Cart addons, forget about WebGraphiq. Also be warned that if you mistakenly purchase a product, expecting source code - too bad - they have a no refund policy.
I do require source code - one of the reasons I chose CS Cart in the first place.
I also prefer to purchase add ons where available rather than reinventing the wheel.
Here are some excellent providers that I have bought from and can recommend. They all supply well documented, well designed, well tested, well supported addons complete with source code.
EZ Merchant Solutions - http://www.ez-ms.com/
CS Cart Rocks - http://cscartrocks.com/
Alt-team - http://www.alt-team.com/
Simtech - http://www.simtechdev.com/
By the way - the product I am looking for is an email verification addon. The functionality of Webgraphiq's Account Activation add on is good - CS-Cart Account Activation addon, Customer, Vendor Account - but I want the source code.
Not a complicated add on to write yourself, but I would prefer to pay for something “out of the box” if anyone can suggest an alternative.
Verification to what degree? RFC specified format of address itself? MX record exists for domain? Domain is authentic (I.e. reverse lookup validates)? Mail is deliverable to mailbox (not really possible but can determine if can connect to SMTP server)?
There are varying degrees of verification most all of which we've done before. Click the “Get-a-Quote” link in my signature and we'll be happy to give you a quote for whatever you're looking for.
Note that if you read the install instructions for Thom's products that they require the installation of ioncube which would imply that at least some of the software is encoded or password protected. Not all addons are open source even if source code is provided. That's why it's important to read the license agreements and any copyright comment/restrictions in the code itself.
The usual way is to embed a url in the outgoing welcome email which the user clicks on which calls some code on the server which can record the fact that the user did in fact receive the welcome email, so the email address given does in fact work. This is what I was looking for and what WebGraphic does.
Regarding WebGraphiq, I am not familar with ioncube but if I had looked closely at the T&C's, I might have become suspicious and thought to ask whether source code was provided. But why not just add a line to the product description - “source code not included”? Many customers won't care - and those like me, who do care, won't waste our time and money buying something we don't want. Especially given WebGraphiq's tough no refunds on any terms policy.

But only works if the user allows remote content (images, css, etc.). If they protect themselves (default for most mail readers) then the “read receipt” is never seen. But again, it's pretty straight forward to implement.
The url can just be text - it does not have to be associated with remote content. In the email you just ask the user to “click on this” or “paste this into your browser”
If that's what you want then just add it to the template. But my bet is that the vast majority of users will not click it. So not sure of the value. I must be missing something.

Ha, same here.
Bought addon that does not work, never received actual support or help. No source code. I had asked eComLabs to develop this addon for me as a custom mod. Works like charm!
@Vali and HungryWeb - yes, sorry that I forgot Hungry Web. I haven't bought anything from you yet but I did use your free Simple Blog which is one of the nicest little pieces of CS Cart software I have seen.
It was very clever, making full use of existing CS Cart functionality. It showed that you have a great understanding of CSCart architecture. I learned a lot from looking at the source code.
I would be very comfortable buying from HungryWeb, and I hope I will some day!
