Just moving my site, the images folder has almost 45,000 images. The site has perhaps 5,000 products.



Do we really need to create so many images ?



Also need a way of removing old images.

Please use the Administration → Transfer → Clean up generated thumbnails option before transfer

Try to use import/export functionality. Old images will not be transfered.
