Ulitmate storebuilder, 4.21, CS-Cart 4.21.1 native Product structured data and Product Variations
We are using CS-Cart 4.21.1 with the Product Variations add-on.
When third-party JSON-LD add-ons are disabled, CS-Cart’s native structured data outputs the parent product as a Product and represents its individual variations as Offer objects within an AggregateOffer.
For example, a garment with M, XL and 2XL variations produces one Product with an AggregateOffer containing three Offers, each with its own SKU, availability, URL and price.
Google’s current Product Variant structured-data documentation recommends representing product variants using ProductGroup and hasVariant, with each variation represented as a Product. Google also states that AggregateOffer should not be used to describe a set of product variants.
Could you confirm whether CS-Cart plans to update the native Product structured data for Product Variations to use Google’s ProductGroup / hasVariant format?
This is particularly relevant for clothing catalogues where colour and size variations have individual SKUs, stock levels, URLs and potentially images.
