…so after searching myself to death on this and after reading the 50 some posts at :
Implementation of the Facebook Like button on each product page - General Questions - CS-Cart Community Forums
…I figured I would start out fresh here.
I would simply like to put the like button iframe code, in an html block, on every page, and have it link to whatever page is current. I can get it working if I put in our static website for the link, but cannot figure out how to get the dynamic current page.
I have tried the facebook add-on (can't make it work), want something simple, and want to place it in different places on our site.
Any final word on this? Is this even possible? Or do I have to do something else besides an html block?
Thanks for any feedback…
Wow, could it be this simple?
Sorry to reply to my own post so early, but I just put facebook's html5 code (both the script and class sections) into an html block, and it seems to work. ? Not sure why I never tried this.
Can anyone confirm if this will be
- cross-browser enough (it tests ok in latest FF, latest Chrome, Opera11 and 9, IE9 and IE8,
- degrade properly if not, and
- not conflict CS's other functions on the page(s)?
Thanks again for any input…

I am using 2.2.5 and I cannot display the button as you described. I noticed that after I place the code provided from the FB developers page, cs-cart automatically deletes all the divs…not sure how you did it but if you did and it worked good for you!
I was tempted to start a new thread too as there are so many different posts and add-ons to add the like button but none of them is straightforward and without bugs…
can someone help and post “the official guide to place a facebook like button on your homepage”?
(I am using shareit to add the social media to my products pages and it worked - but has an issue when products have options)
If you are doing this in an HTML block make sure that you do NOT have any html editor active when you paste/save the block.
