User selectable product view, Single vs Multi-Column

I was wondering it anyone has a mod to allow users/customers to switch between different product list views.



Like


  1. Three columns, limited product info to conserve space
  2. Single column view with more product info

I had a look but could not understand what it does really.



It is a mystery to me why people spend time on a mod but then no time on the description of it or the images that go with it. Far enough when it is a freebie but when paid for then it just seems bizarre.

I totally agree. More information and more screenshots would definitely help them sell more mods. I suggested this to them the last time I purchased.



They do have some pretty good mods and good prices, and their support has been pretty responsive thus far.

I think sometimes it can come from being to close to the point of production. When selling something like a mod (or even if a freebie) you need to get into the head of a customer and think of what information they might need to know and what is their technical level liable to be.



For example - “needs ioncube installed on your server” - oh great now where do I start. I have no idea what it is - what it does - if it might already be installed as a pretty common standard - how to find out if it is etc etc.

Let me as you this: Regarding the Grid/Detail optjions does it switch between CS-Cart’s the single column and multicolumn templates (products_advanced.tpl and products_multicolumns.tpl) or does it use a different template they created.

From a “Why did they design it like that perspective” I like the normal Sort by: options, but the Grid List/Detail List are really “View Options”, not “Sort by” options as these don’t order your products differently



I think they offer this List/Grid view options broken out from the sort by options



View as: [COLOR=“Blue”]List[/COLOR], [COLOR=“Blue”]Grid[/COLOR] _____________________ Sort by: [select here]

Thanks had a look and it does the job nicely.



But it is a view and not a sort.



I could see it being good for wholesale customers - who would know it was there.



I could not add baby teething ring to the cart though when in list view - maybe this is by design. Okay in grid view though.
