when I set up the shipping settings for UPS, how do I know what to put for the dimensions.
If your packages are for the most part all the same size…LOL, then add the exact dimensions.
If the majority of your packages are say 12" cubes, then you would achieve better shipping rates accuracy by entering 12 12 12 .
Otherwise, just enter 0 0 0 and your rates will be returned from UPS.
But as I recall, you DO have to enter dimensions to have rates returned, even if they are zeros.
Of course, there are times when the rates will be returned to your customer for less than the actual charge from UPS (such as for oversized packages, or air shipments of which dimensional weight calculations override actual weight, however, this is the best we have to work with for the time being…
