Hello,
I am not a programmer but would like to upgrade from 1.3.5 SP3 to 2.04
(installed 1.3.5 SP3 and populated it last year. It went OK)
Original idea to use Store Manager upgrading from SP3 to SP4 then to 2.04.
I am stuck in the SP3 to SP4 process.
I used “automatic” to resolve 318 conflicts (!!)
I manually modified config.php as you HAVE to do it manualy. (had to change secretkey + password) or did I miss anything?
After clicking CONTINUE I get the WARNING message blocking the process:
Can’t create DIR ! ftp server response: creating directory failed: addon/access_restrictions: file exists.
What am I doing wrong? Do I have to modifiy file permissions? for every file?
I would like to have your advice here:
I have a lot of articles and over 4’000 pics stored in the DB.
What would be the less effort:
Continue trying to upgrade using Store Manager?
Upgrade manualy?
Or make a fresh 2.04 install and upload all datas again?
This leads to my next question:
Having only one license, is it possible to install 2.04 in other directory, test it than remove 1.3.5?
Sorry asking so many questions in a single post.

What I did is fresh install 135SP3 to localhost, made a full backup on live server, images are on file system. I just downloaded them tar’ed and unpacked to image dir. Imported db backup as sql file in admin panel.
After then done SP3 to SP4 with store manager. My sp3 on liveserver had to many mods so I was affraid I may have many conflicts.
I still had conflicts but they were all resolved automatically however storemanager had stuck few times, I clicked then stop and there is a option to continue, but it stoped again so I played like then about 5 times.
Now in sp4 I have imported images to db. made another full backup and installed 2.04 to live server subdomain. After that ran upgrade file.

Mine ftp server acted similar but it that was becouse of some **** ftp server, with
Download FileZilla Client for macOS it was better, made a user with all permissions.

Mine picture files went corrupted, half black and similar, unusable… So I had to import them via csv

Fresh install is always best. Mine 2.04 admin panel some setting menu got after upgrade is different from fresh install of 2.04(fixed this with some db table upgrade).

I did same, I think there is nothing wrong here…
what about the previous version skin ?
Can new version overwrite all those extra feature like including sidebox or editing skins to new version skins ?
Before starting doing anything I made a full store backup using Store Manager.
Attempting to upgrade just from SP3 to SP4 proved to be impossible for me as I got this DB error message:
Database error: 1064 : You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ‘WHERE user_type = ‘U’ AND timestamp < ‘1243413943’’ at line 1

After a “successfull” RESTORE using Store Manager, I get the same above DB message error.
In other words I cannot access to the shop neither to the admin anymore.
WHAT DO I DO NEXT?

As I said do not do upgrade on live store. As it may try to upgrade all files you modified.
Make a 135 SP3 db Backup (without images).
Install clean 135 SP3 to PC
Import 135 SP3 db backup to PC, now run SP3 to SP4 upgrade with store manager.
Use wanp server to install on local PC
http://www.wampserver.com/en/
Use ftp server
Download FileZilla Client for macOS
Images can be tar’ed on server, downloaded to pc and extracted to proper image folder later or you can do this before SP3 to SP4 upgrade.
Also I hope you are using correct upgrade (SP3 to SP4) file from helpdesk file area…
Good luck

Sorry but no change to “move” skin. 2.0 uses different technique that is not compatible with 135. Once you get used to 2.0 it is not so difficult to modify it after all (not so easy as 135).
Thanks for your help Darius,
I started the process before my first post. (but should have aborted it!)
Luckily I had a copy of original config.php Ver. SP3.
Replacing it solved the problem.
Obviously config.php Ver. SP4 is (part of) the problem allthough it passed the conflict resolution step.
Any idea what’s wrong in my config.php “SP4 version” below?
(changed "personal datas only)
Last line Changing SP4 to SP3 (or backwards) has no bad effect

Changing last line from SP3 to SP4 returns DB error but in ADMIN only
no difference noticed in SHOP
I originaly started working on the live site, when problems apereared.
Now I am back to step 1. Everything running as before with Ver. 1.3.5 SP3
I will now follow your advice and upgrade “local”.
Still, CONFIG.PHP was part of my problem.
I fear this could remain the case with a future install.

I have a pretty basic shop with hardly any mods, running 1.3.5 SP3 and am looking for someone who knows what they’re doing to do the upgrade for us. If anyone is interested in making a few quick bucks please let me know. I’ll need future work as well, but am looking for someone who knows their stuff and willing to offer reasonable rates since we have a very limited budget.
Thanks…
