Did you run the php timeout test in the update screen prior. I got away with a low php timeout for a number upgrades and then once I had a problem much like you are having now. I ended up reinstalling my site, but if you have put a lot of effort into your site a developer may be able to help you get it up and running.
But before we get too far ahead of ourselves, check the error_log file in the home directory of your instalation for any clues. If you post the last few entries here someone may be able to help (I am guessing a time-out issue and your server admin should be able to set timeouts to max).

A couple months ago, I had installed some other software, and had been messing with the PHP version… I backed it down to 7.4 and the upgrade executed perfectly… Thank you for the response…
