Unable To Install 4.1.2

I had similar issues when installing V4.1.4 on a shared host with temporary (IP) domain.

e.g. [url=“http://169.99.26.55/~pants/index.php”]http://169.99.26.55/~pants/index.php[/url] (actual details changed, link goes nowhere)



Symptoms

  1. At install - 'The URL rewrite engine is disabled. Subpath-based storefront URLs will not work' (clicked past and install went ok)
  2. SEO add-on would not install



    I checked with the Host and they said mod_rewrite was definitely installed and that the issue would probably be resolved once my domain name was transferred to them.



    So I logged a ticket with CS-Cart help desk who did this in .htaccess



    replaced

RewriteBase /


with
RewriteBase /~pants

Now SEO add-on installs ok.

Note - the test suggested by Martfox at Post #15 didn't work before or after.

Boy do I feel lucky. 4.1.4 on Apache yesterday without a hitch…whew !!
