Ultimate with multiple storefronts SSL issue.

Just wanted to bring this to everyone's attention. If you plan on having multiple storefronts with Ultimate and wanting to secure them with SSL's… You will have to purchase a special Multi-Domain SSL which also comes with a higher price tag… In the long run it will be more cost effective to just purchase two install licenses of Ultimate and run them separately with separate SSL certs… And you cannot just have one store having an SSL and not the other. CS software cannot deal with that.

This is the reply from CS-Team when I was fighting this issue and couldn't edit my second storefront due to the SSL on the first storefront.

Unfortunately, there is no ability to assign a separate SSL certificate for each storefront. In this case you can purchase a multi-domain SSL certificate. This type of SSL certificates allows you to bind several domain names to a single SSL certificate.

Thank you.

Not sure if this is a very know issue by all but just want to make sure everyone knows about it.

I found this out and may have to purchase a multi-domain ssl. Expensive if only two stores, which is all I will have. Not too bad if there are more. My host said he can configure the shared hosting account to have a separate ssl for each domain in the one account. Did not say how.

I did find these two threads on the Cpanel form that may provide more information.

I don't think there could be two separate IP addresses to work with CS-Cart in the one account.

It can be done if your site uses cPanel via http overrides. There are a lot of steps. There was a thread posted about this quite some time back. But you need to have a cPanel account for each store to hold the SSL but all those cPanel accounts share the same document root.
