Trouble with Subcategories with images addons/my_changes

Hello All-

I have read and reread all related threads and followed the Knowledge Base titled, “Displaying subcategories list as a multicolumn list with images”.

I created the 2 separate paths:

  1. public_html/ skins/green_web/customer/addons/my_changes/hooks/categories and added the view.override.tpl file
  2. public_html/addons/my_changes/controllers/customer and added the categories.post.php file

    I cleared cache by:

    /admin.php?cc and /index.php?cc. I also cleared var/cache folder.

My_changes addon was already installed but uninstalled and reinstalled, again, clearing caches.

I still can’t get this to work.

The only thing I can find that might be an oddity is that my Addon.xml file has a priority of 4294967294, see below:

Does anyone know if this might be my problem? I would love for someone to save the day for me. I have been working on this for 6+ hours now.

Thanks in advance!

Try this addon:

Hi John-

I did see that and haven’t tried that yet. I did notice that the Addon.xml file associated with it was quite a bit different than mine. So, I will try that and see if that helps.

Thanks John

Ok, that didn’t work for me. So, I’m grasping at straws- the file “view.override.tpl” - it states it should be located inside your active skin. Am I correct in saying that it doesn’t go inside the repository file. I didn’t put it there but I have no idea what I am doing wrong. I have cleared my cache after the changes. Anyone with any ideas? They would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Carol

Problem solved! Didn’t do anything new since last post an hour or so ago. Just took time for the changes to take effect. Hope that helps someone else. It has definitely made my day!
