Quick question - if a usergroup is hidden - how do we add a customer to this group?
Hidden only really applies to the customer side (frontend). It simply means that it won't be visible to the customer.
Hence you can have a group of "my special folks" and assign someone to it. But the customer would never see it to "request membership" in that group.
