Hello
We are starting a small online store dropshipping computers and components and so far CS Cart is the nicest software we have found that best fits our needs. We have put quite a bit of work in setting up the CSV output to match the CS Cart formatting and things are starting to come together. We haven’t yet bought a license as there is one fundamental issue we can’t seem to solve and that is an issue with the menu bar at the top.
On your site and on the many other fine examples the dropdown from the top menu centers perfectly with the page, even with multiple columns. Yet when we view ours the categories drop down directly under the tab and thus go off the side of the page (see example screenshot in attachment) The problem doesn’t however appear when using the demo site. And the demo SQL install appears to work corretly until the order of the menu’s are changed.
This is the only problem holding us back from licensing our software, which is a real shame as even out of the box it has a far nicer look than many of the other cart systems available and we feel it would be the perfect choice for us.
Any help in resolving this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.

If this is a known issue with the current version of CS-Cart, why didn't you post the fix here?
It would seem everybody has the same issue … so should everybody being contacting you for the same fix?
Me too…but I contacted CS today and was told workload to intense at the moment ?
Anybody else get the fix from CS ? can perhaps share if poss.
John
Hello there.
I have now bought and licensed my software at a big risk as the issue still seems to exist on the latest version, though so far so good is working on the previous release. I have lost a lot of confidence after reading the above post that staff are 'too busy' to resolve this issue, why should any more of us give up our support credits for a common flaw in your software that is being experienced across the boards? Had I read some of this prior to my purchase I woiuld have likely re-considered.
Also I couldn't find a place in my profile settings to add my HelpDesk account so have re-registered, though would really appreciate if I could get my original username of Spadge back please?
Thanks very much.

Scratch that, previous version not working either. We are following the exact same steps as we did on the demo site provided to us yet on our own hosting it is not working. What is different about the demo installation?

Spadge, the canned response about the heavy workload is CS-Cart Support saying they have read your request, but cannot address it immediately. I prefer that over no response at all. Support has always responded in a reasonable time for me. I've used it since 2009.
IMO, there is no other software to “consider”.
Also, you can sometimes fix your menu usually by moving the overrunning category to a new position, or you could edit the dropdown.css file if you are good at that sort of thing.

I too have always been happy with support but as per the cs post above saying it was a well known issue I would have thought a prompt response may have been likely, sure we can work round it but they said they had the correct answers.
PS my enquiry was for a different issue

Thank you for your message.
There is no single fix for this issue. The fix will be different for different clients as long as they have different top menus. Namely, there could be different numbers of categories displayed in this menu, different category nesting levels, etc. That is why it is better to contact us via Help Desk so that we could provide a proper fix.
This problem is planned to be resolved permanently in one of the next CS-Cart versions.

I have changed it for you. Please check it.
As regards the delay in responses of our technical support service, I sincerely apologies for this. We have quite a lot messages from the clients at the moment, that is why we cannot respond to all requests quickly. But I want to assure all of you that we do our best to reply to your requests as soon as possible.
Thank you for understanding.

Thank you very much for sorting out my username, that’s just awesome
Sorry if my previous post was a bit confrontational, I was just very worried about the site after spending a lot of money on the server and license I strongly look forward to this issue being fixed, in the meantime we are opting for a side menu only but I will leave the option open for later when all is functioning correctly.
For us it seems to be connected to how many sub-categories there are beaneath each top level category. Even numbers seems to be working more often than odd, so maybe this is connected.
Thanks again
