Thumbnail Creation Problem

I am running 4.2.

I just moved CS-Cart onto a load balancer.

Everything works fine except when I add a new product. The thumbnails are not being generated.

If I manually upload a thumbanil the front end is still looking for the autogenerated one.

Does anyone know how thumbnail creation works? Are the thumbnails generated at the same time the image is uploaded to admin? Or are they generated when triggered by someone viewing the product page on the front end that requires the thumbnail?

Trying to figure why the load balancer is causing this problem.

I have tried “Clean up image thumbnail” to no avail.

Any insight is appreciated.

Thanks.

Replaying to my own post…

Thumbnails are not generated until the user hits the URL that needs them. Since we are using a load balancer, the user is not landing on the master server URL needed to generate the thumbnail.

So…is there any way to force the thumbnails to be created without a user visiting the page where the thumbnail is used?

Still haven't figured out why the manual thumbnail upload won't work either.

Thanks in advance.

And for anyone who cares…the manual upload doesn't replace the generated thumbnails. The thumbnails are just auto generated from that file instead of the large one.

Which leaves me back to the main question…is there a way to force the thumbnails to be created without a user visiting the page where the thumbnail is used?

The answer is - NO. But note if the thumbnails already exists in the file system, it will not be regenerated
