syntax error: unrecognized tag 'script' (Smarty_Compiler.class.php, line 589)

I just installed cscart_v2.1.0-professional, a clean install. But I got this error.



Fatal error: Smarty error: [in index.tpl line 73]: syntax error: unrecognized tag ‘script’ (Smarty_Compiler.class.php, line 589) in /home/x/domains/x/public_html/lib/templater/Smarty.class.php on line 1095



I’ve done a few searches here on the forums and subforums but to no avail.

Is anyone sitting on some info on how to fix this? That would be greatly appreciated.

if you’ve added your own javascript it needs to be encased with {literal}{/literal}

Thank you JesseLee.



I figured out what it was. When one upload the full unpacked folders to the webhost, there are always about 4 files that never make it. I did not put much thought on it until just now, so what I did was to upload those particular files manually via the Cpanel/Direct admin interface and the store seems live.

DTL. to avoid that probem in the future if you don’t have SSH access, you should upload the zip or gz archive and extract it using cpanels file manager
