Subdomain or subfolder?

Hello Indy0077,

Yes, I understand the usage of Market Samourai: Finding a niche.

This is why I write:
If I’d used Market Samurai to find my niches, I would NEVER invested in the niche that brings me the most.
Because, the Market Samourai answers are:

A - This niche is good! In fact I sell very few.

B - This niche is poor… In fact I sell 22 times more than the “good” one.

Therefore, in this case, Market Samurai was completely wrong in its predictions to judge “automatically” from the opportunities of 2 different niches.

Can anybody without a try?

Hi, can anyone suggest a way to store images in subdomain. For example, if the store directory is www.yoursite.com/store/

is it possible to store images as images.yourstore.com/

If yes, can anyone suggest how to do that. If this is possible, it may increase overall cs-cart speed.

No without creating a subdomain ‘images.yourstore.com

It won’t increase the speed as the image folder and CS-Cart folder are on the same server (account).

Hello Ypg,

A possible thing to increase CS-Cart speed is optimize your images to get the right balance between filesize and picture quality:

Then can we take it as storing images on different domain or on different server could increase cs-cart spped. Is it possible?

Recently I visited following web page and had the idea of using sub-domains for image storage in cs-cart

The url of this page is

http://www.askapache.com/htaccess/apache-speed-subdomains.html

I have been analysing some websites including amazon.com and some other with heavy page size and huge databases. Majority of them are using different domain/subdomain for image storage.

Yes that right, but I guess they use different DNS as well. I don’t think the subdomains will speed up the site if they use the same IP.

We need to experiment but only if we know how to configure cs-cart image path for external source of images but I do not know how to do that.

You can choose for each product the image location between: Local | Server | URL in the product tab.

I think this option is only for importing the image to cs-cart’s default image location, i.e., yourdomain.com

The image URL can be anywhere, like this example: http://www.cscartdemo.martfox.com/the-zen-of-css-design-visual-enlightenment-for-the-web-1.html

The image URL is http://www.martfox.com/web-hosting-martfox.jpg

The link location is still as the default in cs-cart i.e, cs-cart.com/images/

This is only the way you upload the image in cs-cart image directory.

What I am looking for an external image directory for cs-cart store for example

I see… I didn’t check that, I thought the image will be called from the external URL. Then it seems that wouldn’t be possible without a modification.

Yes modifications are needed, I am not a computer programmer, can you find a way out? The config.local.php gives an option to change the image path, but this is an absolute path. I am not sure if it can accept a url here.

The best way will be to contact the CS-Cart Support with your question.
