Hi all, we recently went live with Cs Cart and unfortunately our inventory levels are acting very strangely. We keep noticing that various items are increasing by 1.
Our order statuses are;
Processing (P) - set to decrease
Sent (C) - set to increase
Cancelled - (I) - set to increase
Failed - (F) - set to increase
Declined - (D) - set to increase
We have ticked the option; “Enable inventory tracking” under Settings/General
The only other thing Im unsure of is some of the product settings, for example; "Quantity Step' and 'List Quantity Count' are all set to zero. - Not sure if one of those needs to be 1 ?
Lastly, some of our products track with options, some without, but we always make sure that the Inventory setting under product is set to something other than “do not track”
Does anyone have a thought as to why our stock levels are increasing by one? We generally notice it the next day after an order has been sent out.
Thank you,
Scott.
Also noticed that the setting under products; “Minimum order quantity:” - is set to zero. Should this be “1” perhaps? It still doesn't explain the increase in stock levels though.
Lastly, our software is the professional version 2.2.1
From what I see, you are using the label Sent for what was the status Completed (code is C). You should probably set it to decrease. I know that you are thinking that you probably have two decreases in a row but in our case it works out fine.
I think there is some hidden logic in CS that when it see 2 similar stock changes back to back, it ignores the second one. Not sure.
In our case, when we receive an order it goes to Open status (code O). We process the payment manually and then flag it as completed (code C) when it is ready to ship. Both code O and C are set to decrease inventory but we only see the decrease when a new order arrives (code O) and no stock changes occur when we go to Complete. Took us a while to come up with the combination that works for all possible situations.
Hope that helps.
Henry
