Sorting options in list view?

In Settings->Appearance, set ‘Product list default sorting’ to ‘Default’.

Bob

So there are 2 options, Popularity and Bestselling… Uhhh… Aren’t the best selling items the most popular? Regardless of if there’s a technical difference, my boss wants one removed, and I can’t for the life of me figure out where these options are set.

I’ve dug through the back end, the tpl files and even went right into the DB, and can’t figure out where I can remove that one option.

Any help?

Thanks,

Caleb

Sorry if this appears twice, I just tried to post and it glitched out on me.

I’d like to change the sort options, removing the “popularity” option, as it seems to be pretty much the same as the “Bestselling” option.

I’ve dug through the back end, the tpl files and even the DB and I can’t seem to find where this is being set. I can see that the sorting.tpl file loops through the $sorting variable and for each $option it displays it. To save my life, I can’t find where that variable is assigned or those options are set.

Little help?

Popularity is not necessarily the best selling, it may be very popular, but maybe your price is too high or shipping is too high or unavailable or whatever, people aren’t buying it, but they’re certainly looking at it.
