since I sell most of the product by one (one in stock only) there is no way for me to sort by best selling or popularity.
Is it possible to add or modify existing sorting method so it would show most products that people got it their wish list or cart?

The number of times product was added to cart or viewed by a customer also affects its popularity. So, probably, sorting by popularity will give you relevant results.
