Someone try to buy giftcards

Hi all.

The last days i have been getting customers from Thailand on my shop.

However each time i get database overload and Transaction was canceled by the customer.

I asume this because i only use paypal for payment.

Anyone else experienced anything like it ?

Hello JonV,

Thank you for you message.

I am sorry to hear that you have experienced this problem. In order that we could find out why these transactions were cancelled we need to examine this issue on your server first. Please contact us via Customer Help Desk and provide temporary access to your server by clicking on the Add record link on the Access information page of your Help Desk account so that we could examine the issue in detail.

Thank you.

I actually saw this as well a week or so ago. Looks like someone tried to buy a gift certificate 3 times? Possibly someone trying to hack into system?

Hello milezone,

Thank you for your message.

It does not look like someone wants to hack your store, but there is a chance that it is done by some bot. The possible point is to create as many abandoned carts in your store as possible so that your MySQL database experiences high loads. Unfortunately, there are some other complains concerning the same issue, so I assume that they are not regular customers who want to purchase a gift certificate.

In the current CS-Cart version, you can see the IP address of the person who creates such abandoned carts. It is visible on the Customers > Abandoned/Live Carts page in your CS-Cart admin panel. You can block this IP address with using the standard Access restriction CS-Cart add-on (more instructions on how to use this add-on you can find in our Knowledge base article) or directly on your server.

I hope this information will help you.

Thank you.
