i would also say disable statistics on the add on section. it also slows the site down.
try gzip compression. If you’re usign cPanel, use “optimise website” option. I have my site hosted on a dedicated server which was used to take good 11 sec to load but enabling gzip compression option it has made a difference. Now it takes only b/w 2-3 sec to load.
