Is there an easy option to show a “Free Shipping” label/text on the product page when the item has free shipping?
I cant seem to find such an option or add-on.
I manually coded this in our old 4.0.3 version but that code has since been overwritten in the upgrade and I don’t want to code it again to have it overwritten on the next update.
Surprised the option is not there by default or I’ve missed it

There is an add-on “In stock/Out-of-stock alternative statuses”[color=#2D2D2D][font=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif][size=3] [/size][/font][/color]in our webshop.
You may use “Free Shipping” text instead of “In stock” or “Out-of-stock” statuses.
You may even post an image with Free Shipping phrase on a Product page. Notice that these alternative statuses are displayed on product details pages and in a product list.

Use advanced search to find all products with the free shipping. Then you can go to each product page and fill up the Promo text field. The value of this field will be displayed at the right side of the product detail page.

Thanks for both suggestions but both are not exactly what I had in mind.
The addon you have is great but we want a label above the image to show “FREE SHIPPING” just like the discount label shows, this is what I had coded back in 4.0.3 but it got removed and I don't want to code again to have it wiped again on next update (I have not used the mychanges addon yet).
The reason your addon is not suitable for us is that we want to preserve the “in stock” “out of stock” words while at the same time advertising the free shipping.
We also have custom “Pre-order” status that replaces the other two if the item is a Pre-order item.

This would work ok for smaller shops but if you have a few people changing items daily you would definitely need an automatic system rather than manually setting each via the promo text.

EG.
A “Free Shipping Label” will need to be linked to the Products Free Shipping checkbox. Another example would be a “coming soon” and “New Arrival” Label that is linked to appear/dissapear automatically n-days to/from the “Availability date”…
This extra refinement would make the addons complte… but without them the probability of incorrect labels could mislead th customer.

you can also set a totaly custom label and set a date range for that to appear on products
you can set labels to many products via mass edit
