I offer shipping in the UK by Royal Mail.



The 2 methods I offer are Large letter, items up to 25mm thick and Packet, items over 25mm thick.



How do I force the cs-cart shipping to offer the Packet option on check out if the customer has ordered an item over 25mm thick?



At present customer see the 2 options and take the cheapest.

Unfortunately, CS-Cart does not take dimensions into account when determining the shipping method. It has been a requested feature for several years but has never been addressed.

shame, maybe I will have to play with the weights so that the items fall into the packet category, just don’t want to over charge customers for shipping.



Is there any way to give them the option of adding recorded/insured delivery via a tick box or is it another mail category setup required?

Unfortunately, the answer there is also no. CS-Cart really needs some fundamental improvements in the shipping erea.

Real shame alright.



In New Zealand we use dimensions (and weight) for local and international postage and I thought perhaps it was just us and our neighbors so I started to make a quick list of countries that have dimensional requirements just out of interest. It turns out it would be easier to build a list of countries that don’t have dimension rules for postage, if in fact there are any.



Without being able to add dimensions to products in cs-cart it is simply game over for me. Wanting to sell varying size products locally and internationally with accurate post pricing is not something I would call niche, and playing with weights/methods or adding “for international postage please email us for pricing…” is bogus business, if I’m wrong, I’m happy to be corrected.



To be honest I’m quite astounded by the lack of product dimensions.
