Hi, I created a shipping method specifically for the wholesale user group. I have it checked for wholesale in the shipping method and unselected the other options (All, Guest and Registered user).
For the other shipping methods, I unselected wholesale and selected Guest and Registered User. However these still show up as available options for wholesale customers.

Wholesale users are the Registered ones at the same time. That is why these shipping methods are available for them.
This is a useless feature...
Shipping method 1 - set for wholesale group
This shipping method will not be seen for registered and guest accounts
Shipping method 2 - set for registered, guest but not wholesale
This shipping method will be seen only for wholesale group, however this group will also see Shipping method 1, meaning it will not be hidden. By default wholesale or any group member is in registered group also...
In past I have asked ecomlabs to make me addon that would exclude wholesale group from seeing what registered and guest can see..

What exactly do you want to achieve? Meaning how is wholesale group shipping method is different from say retail ?

I only want to have custom-created UPS shipping method available for wholesale, because I want to add additional costs for insurance and excess weight (I make candles which can get heavy on wholesale orders).
Wholesale users are the Registered ones at the same time. That is why these shipping methods are available for them.
This causes issues in other areas too, not just shipping methods. For instance I have some products that are available only to wholesale, and I have some that are available only to retail.
